For many in and outside of Britain, Twinings is an iconic tea brand. The tea leaves of its Original English Breakfast blend are highly broken, and it is not the most visually stimulating tea. Although the price of this tea is on the low side of the luxury market, it does offer drinkers a bold yet refreshing and uplifting brew that lacks in most cheaper loose teas (and pretty much all tea bags).
When I first tried this tea, its Ceylon content made me think that it might border on an afternoon blend and be suitable with or without milk. Upon further tasting, I would say that its stronger teas (probably Indian and Kenyan) need a splash of milk to mellow it out.
